    Geraldine Lee-Treweek Profile Picture
Dr Geraldine Lee-Treweek is a Principal Lecturer in Applied Social Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University in Cheshire , leads the Applied Social Studies and Abuse Studies subject areas and has responsibility in her portfolio for community engagement. Dr Lee-Treweek’s leads a small team of professionally trained researchers, and community co-researchers, at the University and their most recent completed research examines the experience of transmigrants in the South Cheshire and Warrington areas; particularly, but not exclusively, focusing on Eastern European migrants arriving after EU accession in 2004. These externally funded participatory action research projects have addressed issues such as migrant health needs, the ‘lived experience’ of social cohesion for migrants within their neighborhoods and their labour market aspirations for the future. The team are currently working on migrants’ accounts of the mental health effects of community experiences of aggression and intimidation both in the community and in workplaces.
