The Unity Centre
The Unity Centre is West Cheshire’s Multicultural Hub, housing
6 different community organisations working in partnership with the
Race & Equality Centre and each
other –
Sanjhi Indian Association, the
Wah Lei,
Xin Hua,
Japanese Mums and Tots,
Nipponkai
and West Cheshire Multicultural Women’s Group.
The Centre is a focal point for BME communities, offering a wide range
of targeted activities and services from one central point. Members of
the wider public are also encouraged to get involved in the Centre,
whether by coming along to activities hosted here or volunteering to
help.
We have a large activity room which is available to hire for functions,
events and training (see below) and an IT suite, where anyone can come
in and use the internet free of charge, whether you are a complete
novice or an expert.
The Centre is still in developmental stages, but we hope to have a wide
range of activities and services running by the end of the first 6
months of opening including: diabetes sessions, healthy eating,
immigration advice, welfare benefits advice, training days, fitness
classes, language classes and much, much more.
You can
see
our latest activities calendar here (PDF) – to see what’s planned
for the coming season.
